the real problem with these Lakers is their softness. the Lakers should be delivering punishment, with elbows knees and even fists if needed, technicals be damned. it’s not about hurting the other teams, but teams know that the Lakers will flinch if the game gets rough. the Lakers need to be dishing instead of taking and they may need to do it for months. other teams shouldn’t feel this comfortable. no layups, even if it means ejection. period. i mean, if you’re going to be called for fouls, they might as well count.

Kobe, Fish, Shaq, Horry Fox, Riley, Scott, etc all gave more than they took.

who’s the enforcer on this team?
that’s what they are missing, someone to rattle teeth.
that’s why they are losing.

Metta can’t. the league wouldn’t stand for the slightest incident.

Seems like they need some mental toughness more than the physical variety..

no, they need physical toughness as much as mental toughness. of course, physical toughness comes from mental toughness.

Toughness was a quality we saw earlier in the season. This early schedule is particularly brutal and the lads feel under prepared in the conditioning sense. Mentally and physically. They are only lads, but the growth factor from this year to last feels a bit lacking. One should bear in mind that it is also Luke and this staff’s first year together so weathering a storm is, in a way, new to everyone.
