Either Paul is on the roster or traded or bought out!
The Carmelo Anthony trade last year is a clear indication that Oklahoma City would rather trade draft assets to move money and not have a dead cap hit sitting on the books. Either Paul is on the roster or traded- hard to believe a buyout would even be part of the discussion.

Would Chris Paul, head of the NBA Players Association, even consider a buyout in order to compete for a championship? Hard to believe but Chris might be willing to give up $25 million just to finish his career on a contender. What’s the difference really between $125 million and $100 million? Scares me to think of him ending up on either the Lakers or the Clippers or any team with two superstars. This is the NBA and now we know for sure that “anything can happen.”

No way he’s giving up $25 million and there’s no way he’s going to get bought out- there’s too much money left on his deal.
If it does happen, he hope he goes to the losers next door. I still can’t stand him.

I’m not sure there’s ever been a buyout anywhere close to 100mill. It’s amazing to me that Morey was able to move that contract…let alone get a recent MVP in return.

that was a very good trade by Morey..It is going to be hard for Sam Presti to be able to trade RW..so much more stretch his salary
